Healthy LifeA healthy lifestyle is one which helps to keep and improve people’s health and well-being. Drinking too much alcohol can also have devastating effects on our health – not only can it leave us with a hangover the next day, but drinking more than the recommended intake on a regular basis can also cause long-term damage to the body’s internal organs. Chronic misuse is one of the major causes of liver disease.

A good treatment plan is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle. Though it may take time to adjust to medication and therapy, they are your best defenses against symptom recurrence. Everyone has a different physical and emotional makeup, so it often takes time and patience for you and your doctor or mental health professional to find the right treatment strategy for you. It is most important that you communicate your needs to your health care providers and work with them to discover the best possible approach to symptom management. Your loved ones can play an important role in your treatment plan, too. You can help them to help you by making them aware of your medication needs and having them watch for signs of symptom recurrence.

Healthy Life

Healthy LifeThe continuing rise of lifestyle-related diseases and chronic disorders means that we need to take a fresh look at health and healthcare, and to remember that prevention is better than cure. What matters about your weight is the amount of body fat you carry around. A higher percentage puts you at risk for cancer, heart disease and diabetes. The Communication was modified in October 2004 to add new indicators and to introduce a structural indicator on health: the Healthy Life Years (HLY). The team offer short opportunistic advice or health information, extending to a brief intervention on a specific lifestyle or undertake a full lifestyle screening depending on the client’s level of engagement.

Although females live longer than males, in 2013 to 2015 there was little difference in the level of healthy life expectancy and therefore females spent more years in poor health than males (19.0 years compared with 16.1 years for males) and the proportion of life spent in poor health was greater for females than males (22.9{32e9f6850226ddeae475111f9d4a36d0aee80f911ceb4b63ffa54c51a5f24b8d} compared with 20.3{32e9f6850226ddeae475111f9d4a36d0aee80f911ceb4b63ffa54c51a5f24b8d}) (table 1). This demonstrates that the majority of the extra years of life that females had over males were spent in poor health; females lived 3.6 years longer than males in 2013 to 2015, but had only 0.7 years longer in healthy life. Therefore 2.9 of these extra years were spent in poor health.

Some of the qualifications were more easily met than others: 71.5 percent of adults were non-smokers (and indeed the smoking rate has been declining in the U.S. for decades), 46.5 percent got enough exercise, 37.9 percent had a healthy diet, but only 9.6 percent had what the study calls a normal body-fat percentage.”( Though considering how few people meet this qualification, perhaps the word normal” is misused here.) Just 2.7 percent of people met … Read More . . .
